Scorybrek Kennels was
founded in 1988 by Terry Stokes and later registered with the Canadian Kennel
Club.
While growing up, Terry’s
family bred Yorkshire Terriers and had many Cocker Spaniels. Terry, while
visiting her Grandmother and aunts in Scotland, became so impressed with the
character of the breed that she fell in love with Westies immediately and
knew that they would be a great family dog, and her children agreed.
Scorybrek Kennels acquired
their first Westie, Muffins (Mydifyne Candy Kiss) in 1988. Muffins was shown
sparingly and had her first litter in 1992. Terry enjoyed the dog shows and
especially the puppies. She continued in her new hobby having the occasional
litter, and by 1999 her small pack of champion females had completed their
breeding years. Terry added a male from Europe, Am Can Ch Alborada
Caballero, and his ancestry can be found in all of Terry’s lines followed by Am
Can Ch Alborada Tolstoi. We have finished over 50 American, Canadian
and Brazilian Champions.
Scorybrek Kennels
endeavours to produce healthy, outgoing, puppies with great temperament.
We are proud of our dogs and participate in
activities and organizations that further our knowledge of the breed and our
dogs.
Terry has judged puppy
sweepstakes for the Oakville All-Breed Kennel Club and Terrier Breeders'
Association of Canada. She has given seminars on
the breed to judges’ groups in Canada and to Westie aficionados in Brazil.
